On Wednesday 9th July, hundreds of students from Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) came together to celebrate sport, teamwork, and healthy competition at the annual Trust Sports Day. On Thursday 15th May, the WPT Young Musician 2025 final was held, in which finalists from across our Trust schools competed in categories by performing to a panel of external adjudicators. With two shows featuring some of our primary and secondary singers and instrumentalists, it was an amazing display of the outstanding talent we have across WPT. Over the holidays, we held our fifth WPT Easter Competition, which was open to all students across Wickersley Partnership Trust. To enter the competition, our students had to get creative and send us an Easter themed piece of artwork, a selfie, a photo, or a design. As always, we had some fantastic entries, and our judges had an extremely hard job of choosing the top 5! But
On Wednesday 8th May, the Rotherham School Games team ran two Y3/4 Dynamos Open Cricket tournaments at Whiston Parish Church Cricket Club. The event saw thirteen schools and over 120 children including Brinsworth Whitehill and Aston Hall competing and playing Cricket across two sessions. This week, the Outdoor Education Team ran a trust wide climbing competition with The Climbing Hangar and Rotherham School Games, for the schools’ climbing clubs. The students all challenged themselves and pushed their boundaries to complete climbs in a friendly competitive environment. Primary students across the Trust have all taken part in the TEKK Challenge as part of their in-classroom learning. This was in collaboration with @BETogether2013 TEKK Challenge and @HSBC_uk. This year’s challenge was to build playground equipment using a set list of resources and clear expectations. The festival is a community event that has a strong emphasis on young talent and creativity in Doncaster and beyond. On Sunday 4th February, Ben and Lucas from Thrybergh Academy, and Ruby from Wickersley School headed to Nottingham to compete in the Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland District 1220 Young Musician Final, which covers South Yorkshire to North Nottinghamshire.
