Admissions

Admission to our Schools

 

Wickersley Partnership Trust is the Admissions Authority for the 13 schools who are members of the Trust. As an Admissions Authority, we are responsible for setting, on an annual basis, admissions arrangements that are lawful, meet the requirements of the Department for Education (DfE) Admission to School Code of Practice 2021 (the code) and where necessary and appropriate are consulted upon.

 

The setting and determining of admission arrangements for entry to school and the allocation of places follows an annual process. For example: 

 

Key dates for Admission Arrangements for 2025/26.

 

  • Consultation window for admission arrangements for 2025/26 entry – 1 October 2023 to 31 January 2024
  • Admission Authorities determine admission arrangements by 28 February 2024
  • Notify appropriate bodies of determined arrangements, publish determined arrangements on the respective school website and send copies of determined policies to the Local Authority (LA) by 15 March 2024
  • Objections to determined admission arrangements must be referred to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator by 15 May 2024
  • National ‘Closing Date’ for ‘on-time’ applications for Secondary applications 31 October 2024
  • National ‘Offer Day’ for Secondary school entry 1 March 2025
  • National ‘Closing Date’ for ‘on-time’ applications for Primary applications 15 January 2025
  • National ‘Offer Day’ for Primary school entry 16 April 2025
  • Start of the 2025/26 academic year 1 September 2025  

 

Each of our schools’ websites have an Admissions section which contains the Admissions Policy for the school for the current and future academic years in line with requirements of the code. School website information also includes catchment area information (where applicable), applying for a school place outside of the normal point of entry (in year applications) and how to appeal any decision to refuse a place.
