What a fantastic morning we had at this year’s WPT Sports Day last week. Students from Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 across our Trust secondary schools came together at Herringthorpe Stadium for a programme of track and field athletics.
Events included sprint and middle-distance races alongside field events such as shot put, long jump, javelin, discus and high jump. Across all disciplines, students competed with real determination, producing many strong performances and personal bests throughout the morning.
The event finished with the relay races, delivering a fast-paced and exciting conclusion that highlighted teamwork, communication and effort across all schools.

The WPT Sports Day was a celebration of collaboration and shared enjoyment of sport. Students and staff came together in excellent spirit, reflecting the pride and unity across our Trust.
We believe every child should have access to high-quality PE and sport. Participation supports physical health, personal and social development, and helps raise aspirations while contributing to academic success. Our aim is to continue providing inclusive, safe and engaging opportunities through our PE curriculum, extra-curricular activity and cross-Trust competition.
Well done and thank you to all students, volunteers and staff who made the event such a success.
