Last week, all five secondary schools across Wickersley Partnership Trust welcomed their new Year 6 students as they began their three-day transition programme.
WPT understands what a significant step it is moving from primary to secondary school for students and their families. That is why we provided a structured and supportive transition programme across our secondary schools, helping our future students feel confident, prepared and excited for their move into Year 7 in September.
Over the three days, students had the opportunity to explore their new school environment, meet staff and future classmates, and become familiar with the routines and expectations of secondary school life. The programme was carefully designed to help students settle in, build new friendships and gain a sense of belonging within their new school community.
It was fantastic to see students arrive ready for the next stage of their educational journey. Throughout the three days, they took part in a range of activities that helped them feel at home in their new surroundings and gave them a taste of life at secondary school.
We would like to thank parents, carers and primary schools for their support in preparing students for this important step. By working together, we helped ensure that every child enjoyed a smooth and successful transition.
