Over the past few weeks, Year 6 students from across our Trust have been taking part in this year’s WPT Residential, delivered by the WPT Sports Development Team.
As a fully funded residential, the programme removes the cost barrier for families, ensuring that every child can benefit from the experience. For many of our Year 6 students, this marked their first time staying away from home, while for some it was their first chance to travel outside their local area.
The children enjoyed an action-packed trip, including a day at Ulley Reservoir where they took part in a range of outdoor activities such as kayaking, den-building and archery. They also visited Rufford Abbey Country Park, exploring the beautiful surroundings on a scenic walk and taking part in an exciting duck hunt through the woodland.
After their busy adventures, the students camped overnight at our Cranworth Road site, where they spent quality time with friends.
The residential also contributed towards our Trust’s Pledges programme, giving students the opportunity to develop key Life Skills such as independence, communication and resilience. By taking part in new experiences and challenges, students were able to broaden their horizons while building confidence and creating lasting memories.
Everyone represented their school brilliantly and should be incredibly proud of themselves.
