Over the last few weeks, students and staff from our secondary schools have been lacing up their trainers for one of our favourite annual traditions – the Sponsored Walk!
Each school planned its own route, taking in local landmarks and scenic spots – with some walking 10 miles! Along the way, there were plenty of smiles, muddy boots, and team spirit as hundreds of students and staff came together to support causes close to their hearts.
This year, our students chose to raise money for:
- Age UK
- Hopian UK
- Rotherham Hospice
- Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice
- Cancer Research UK
- Young Lives vs Cancer
- PACT – Sheffield Children’s Hospice
We’re incredibly proud of the fundraising effort across our Trust, with students, staff and families all contributing to support these brilliant charities. Sponsorship contributions are still being collected, so the final total is yet to be confirmed – keep an eye out for it in our next newsletter!
At the heart of everything we do is our Trust Pledges programme, designed to nurture young people who are confident, well-rounded, enthusiastic, and caring. The Active Citizenship Pledge encourages students to engage in volunteering, charitable activity, appreciation of diversity, and democratic responsibility. By taking part in the Sponsored Walk, our students were putting this pledge into action – demonstrating teamwork, compassion, and a real commitment to their local community.
