Careers and Enterprise Awards

We attended the Careers and Enterprise Company South Yorkshire Careers Hub Leading the Way conference at the OEC in Sheffield on Thursday – an event that celebrates and acknowledges the commitment and excellent practice taking place across the region.

We’re pleased to announce that Wickersley Partnership Trust won the Most Innovative Provision Award for our Careers in the Curriculum Programme – an initiative that helps students to understand the vast array of careers open to them, and how what they learn in school can be transferred to the world of work.

Clifton Community School and Thrybergh Academy also won awards for meeting all 8 Gatsby Benchmarks consistently across the year.

The Most Active Enterprise Advisor Award was given to Cathie Barker from Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), the Enterprise Advisor for Clifton Community School. She has this year delivered assemblies in all of our Rotherham secondary schools, and workshops to students who did not complete work experience. Cathie has also welcomed some of our aspiring Engineering students to the AMRC.

And finally, Caroline Lees, Governor at Thrybergh Academy, won the Most Engaged ‘Give an Hour’ Partner Award. Caroline leads on education at VolkerRail and has supported our Trust Careers Fairs, giving students information about the different careers available in the rail industry.

All in all, a very successful afternoon for the Trust and some of our partners.

Congratulations to all winners, and a huge well done to the Trust Careers Team – these awards are testament to your hard work, and commitment to sending all of our young people into an ever-changing world, able and qualified.
