On Wednesday 21st February, the Rotherham School Games team hosted the first ever NFL Flag Football Training Day with the help of NFL UK at the Cranworth Campus.
The day saw 14 members of staff come down and learn all the elements of Flag Football, allowing them to then pass on their knowledge and skills learnt within their primary schools. Flag Football is a non contact version of American Football and something we are looking at developing within Rotherham, so keep an eye out for competitions as well as festivals in the near future!
As well as a full day’s CPD, staff members were provided with a 6 week curriculum plan to teach Flag Football within their schools. Overall, staff thoroughly enjoyed the day and displayed a fun competitive spirit throughout.
