We are proud to share that newly published national figures reveal that two of our secondary schools are among the most-improved in the entire country.
Across key national benchmarks – including Attainment 8 and Grade 4+ and Grade 5+ passes in English and Maths – both Clifton Community School and Thrybergh Academy have delivered exceptional progress, placing them firmly within the highest percentiles nationwide for school improvement.
Clifton Community School has achieved a landmark milestone, placing in the top 7% nationally for improvement across all three core measures. Clifton’s 7.6-point jump in Attainment 8 places the school 21st nationally out of thousands of secondary schools across England (top 0.7% nationally). In addition, Clifton saw a 13.8 percentage point rise in students achieving Grade 5+ in English and Maths (top 3.5% nationally for improvement) and a 9.3 percentage point increase for Grade 4+ (top 6.9% nationally).
Thrybergh Academy has secured an impressive spot in the top 10% nationally for school improvement across all headline measures. Thrybergh ranked 78th nationally for Attainment 8 improvement (top 2.4% nationwide) following a 5.8-point increase. The academy also recorded a 10.2 percentage point increase in students securing Grade 4+ in English and Maths (top 5.3% nationally for improvement) and a 9.8 percentage point increase in Grade 5+ passes (top 9.9% nationally).
These outstanding national rankings reflect the tireless dedication of our young people, the relentless commitment of our teaching and support staff, and the strong partnerships we build with our families and local communities.
As a Trust, our mission is to send all young people into an ever-changing world, able and qualified to play their full part in it. These figures are a powerful testament to the hard work happening across our schools every day, and we look forward to continuing this strong momentum across our entire Trust family.
