WPT Schools Raise £8900 for Charity

Schools across our Trust have come together in an inspiring show of creativity and community spirit to support the Pride of Yorkshire fundraiser in aid of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.

We have collectively raised an incredible £8,986!

This project, which is the charity’s biggest fundraising campaign yet, has seen students across several of our schools take part, most notably by painting their own lion cubs.

Alongside involvement in art, Monkwood Primary School and Aston Hall Junior & Infant School also organised their own fundraising events. Monkwood took part in a Sponsored Safari Treasure Hunt, combining teamwork, problem-solving and outdoor adventure to raise vital funds.

At Aston Hall, staff and students joined forces for a sponsored danceathon – dancing throughout the day in neon colours – to support the cause.

The completed lion cubs will form part of a spectacular display this summer across the region, where they will be showcased as part of the Pride of Yorkshire trail, attracting visitors across the region.

Helen O’Brien, CEO at Wickersley Partnership Trust, said: “We are so proud of the collective effort across our Trust in raising such an outstanding amount for a charity that plays a vital role in supporting children and families across our region. Promoting active citizenship is central to our School Pledges, and it is hugely encouraging to see our schools, students and staff working together to make a real difference to such an important cause.”

Funds raised through this project will support the ongoing work of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, helping to provide vital care, equipment and support for children and families when they need it most.

Well done, everyone!
