A Fond Farewell to a Rawmarsh Legend: Happy Retirement, Mr Elsom!
It’s the end of an era at Rawmarsh Community School as we say a heartfelt goodbye to our longest-serving staff member, Mr Andrew Elsom, who retires today after an extraordinary 36 years in the profession.
For so many, Mr Elsom has been more than just a teacher of French and German – he has been a mentor, an inspiration, and a constant believer in his students’ potential. Since 1989, he has shaped the futures of countless learners – including many parents of our current students – and helped foster a love of languages that has spanned generations.
His passion, patience and dedication have been the bedrock of the MFL department at Rawmarsh and a guiding light for colleagues across Wickersley Partnership Trust. A highly respected figure, he’s also brought his wealth of experience and support to other schools across the Trust, including our primary schools.
The halls of Rawmarsh – and the wider Trust – won’t be the same without him.
From all of us at Wickersley Partnership Trust:
“Thank you, Mr Elsom, for everything you’ve contributed to our schools and communities. Your impact will be felt for years to come – we wish you the very best in your well-earned retirement.”
