It was another fantastic year for Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) at the South Yorkshire Careers Hub Awards, held at the Mowbray venue in Sheffield. The awards ceremony is a celebration of the dedication and innovation shown by schools, colleges, employers, and careers leaders across the region in preparing young people for their futures – and this year, WPT was proud to have several key wins and nominations that reflect our ongoing commitment to careers education.
Award for Consistently Meeting All 8 Gatsby Benchmarks
Clifton Community School and Thrybergh Academy were both recognised for their outstanding careers provision, taking home the prestigious award for Consistently Meeting All 8 Gatsby Benchmarks throughout the year. This recognition demonstrates their sustained excellence in delivering a well-rounded, high-quality careers education programme that meets national standards and supports every student’s journey into further education, training or employment.
Award for Student Voice
Wickersley School and Sports College was honoured with the Student Voice Award, celebrating the proactive role students have played in shaping the school’s careers provision. From contributing to planning employer engagement activities to providing valuable feedback on events and initiatives, students at Wickersley have shown leadership and ownership in their future pathways – embodying the Trust value of taking responsibility.
Celebrating Outstanding Employer Partnerships
Two individuals were also recognised for their contributions to employer engagement:
Caroline Lee, a representative from VolkerRail and a Governor at Thrybergh Academy, received an award for her incredible work as a Cornerstone Employer. Caroline has played a pivotal role in the Teacher Encounters Programme, which builds essential bridges between education and industry by giving students first-hand insight into the workplace. She was also shortlisted in the Employer Engagement category.
Kate Nelson from Henry Boot Construction, a WPT Enterprise Adviser, was also nominated in the Employer Engagement category, in recognition of her ongoing support, collaboration, and impact across our Trust schools.
These accolades reflect the Wickersley Partnership Trust’s wider commitment to high-quality careers education and to fulfilling the WPT Enrichment Promise – ensuring that every student has access to meaningful experiences beyond the classroom that inspire ambition, broaden horizons, and support lifelong success.
A huge congratulations to all of our schools, staff and partners involved. We are incredibly proud of this recognition and remain committed to preparing every young person for the future they choose and deserve.
