This week, all five secondary schools across our Trust welcomed Y6 students through their doors to begin their three-week transition period. This is a key part of their educational journey, offering them a chance to familiarise themselves with the school environment, meet staff and peers, and experience a taste of secondary school life ahead of September.
At Wickersley Partnership Trust, we understand that the move from primary to secondary school is a significant step for both students and their families. That’s why we place great importance on providing a well-structured and supportive transition programme across all of our secondary schools. These carefully planned weeks are designed to ease anxieties, build confidence, and ensure that every student feels excited about this new chapter.
Throughout the transition period, students will take part in a range of activities that help them get to know their new surroundings, routines, and the high expectations we set across our schools. They will also have opportunities to build relationships with staff and future classmates, helping to lay the foundations for a smooth and successful start in the new academic year.
We’ve heard that the students have had an excellent first few days – they conducted themselves fantastically and looked incredibly smart in their new uniforms. We hope they all enjoyed the experience so far and are looking forward to the next few weeks!
Thank you to all parents and students for your continued support in making Y6 Transition a success. We’re excited to work closely with you and your children in the years to come.
Keep an eye out for some of the things our Y6s get up to over the next few weeks!
