This year, for the first time, our WPT Residentials 2025 students took part in a hike in the Peak District. Part of the walk included a ‘Duck Hunt’ where the students searched around for 100 rubber ducks in different teams. The students loved this task, and the overall winners, in joint first place, were Aston Day 1 and Rawmarsh Day 1 students, who both found 94/100 ducks. The individual team winners were from Magna Lane/Foljambe Primary School, where the team found a total of 19 ducks.

Following on from the ‘Duck Hunt’ our students then embarked on their hike through the beautiful Cave Dale. Although the walk was challenging, our students really pushed themselves and felt a great sense of achievement when they had finished.

The other half of the WPT Residentials 2025 were at WPT’s Cranworth site and at Ulley Reservoir.

At Cranworth and Ulley Reservoir, the children took part in a variety of team building activities where they had to solve puzzles and work together in order to complete the tasks. They were given the chance to experience indoor rock climbing, archery and watersports, including kayaking!

Everyone had a fantastic time, and were a huge credit to their schools and WPT – we can’t wait to see what next year brings…
