Meet the Team
Mrs Stones
Lead Teacher
I am the Lead teacher at Magna Lane and I have over 25 years of experience in education. I am fully committed to the children I teach and I believe that all children should have the opportunity to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment, where talents can be recognised and their full potential reached.
I have two children and as a family we enjoy football, with our weekends being spent either playing for local teams or supporting Barnsley Football Club. We also have a pet rabbit called Harley, who likes to sneak into the house when no-one is looking!
Mrs White
Teacher
Hello! My name is Mrs White.
I am a teacher at Magna Lane. I have been a qualified teacher for 6 years and before that, I worked as a teaching assistant in a special needs school.
I have three children, Phoebe, Joseph and Samuel and we have a pet dog called Buddy, who is a little crazy! We enjoy spending time together playing board games and card games or completing puzzles. When the weather is nice, we also like hiking and having picnics in the countryside. In my spare time, I like to keep fit by going to the gym, running with the dog and riding bikes. I also like reading, we are big fans of the Julia Donaldson books and Harry Potter.
I love working with children, as every day is as unique and special as the children we work with.
Mrs Derrick
Teacher
I am a teacher who works at Magna Lane on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I have been a teacher for nearly 11 years and have taught most primary year groups in this time. Teaching is not for the faint hearted but my goodness it really is rewarding – I love to see the looks on our children’s faces when they have a moment of success however big or small this may be. All children are unique and deserve to be taught in the best way possible to suit their individual needs.

I am a teaching assistant at Magna Lane.
I am a mum of two grown up children, Bethany and Finlay. As a family, we enjoy going out together to play bowling, eat meals, and we are big football fans. We are often down at New York Stadium on match days supporting the Millers. Our favourite place in the world is Cornwall, where we enjoy visiting family and taking long walks along the beautiful beaches.

I’m Cherie and my role is Teaching Assistant at Magna Lane. I love my job and to be doing something that I enjoy is absolutely brilliant. Not only am I fortunate to work with some great colleagues, but I feel so lucky to be able to work with totally fantastic children. Every day is different, and we always try to have lots of fun drawing, painting and we love being creative.
Outside of work, I am a busy mum to my own three children. We all like to watch Rotherham United and enjoy going on holiday.
