School Uniform
Thank you to our uniform suppliers for their continued support and dedication to ensuring our uniform is both affordable and environmentally friendly.
At Wickersley Partnership Trust, we strongly believe that our school uniform should be inclusive, cost-effective and ethical. To coincide with the Government’s guidance on uniform affordability, we held a uniform consultation across our five secondary schools in 2023, which involved a variety of stakeholders – students, parents, staff and others. Our aim was to ensure that no matter which of our secondary schools a child attends, they would have the same uniform at the same cost, whilst maintaining the school’s identity.
The outcome of this consultation, which will be implemented for September 2024, saw 53.2% of all responses in favour of V-neck jumpers / cardigans.
Uniform & Clothing Bank
At a time when many families are feeling the pressure of rising costs, we recognise that extra support can make a real difference. School uniforms and essential items – such as coats and PE kits – can be a significant expense for some. We want to help ease that burden where we can.
We have relaunched our Trust-wide Uniform & Clothing Bank, offering a wide range of good-quality new and pre-loved items. This initiative provides a sustainable way to recycle and repurpose school uniforms, ensuring they continue to benefit children across our community.
The Uniform & Clothing Bank can be accessed completely free of charge, where requests can be made at any time – including during the school holidays.
Items that can be donated and requested include:
- School jumpers and cardigans
- Polo shirts
- Trousers
- School-approved skirts
- Ties
- Gingham dresses
- Coats
- PE kits
- Bags
All donated items are carefully checked to ensure they meet our quality standards. Items must be:
- Free from holes
- Free from stains
- Not overly faded
Donations and Requests
How to donate uniform:
We welcome donations of good quality, pre-loved school uniform items from families across our Trust community.
During the final week of each term (Christmas, Easter and Summer), collection bins will be available at all school receptions. Simply place your items in the designated bins – we’ll sort the rest!
If you are physically unable to get donations to school, please let us know by emailing uniformbank@wickersleypt.org.
How to request uniform:
Please email uniformbank@wickersleypt.org with details of the sizes and items you need. Our team will then review your request and carefully select suitable items based on current stock availability.
All items are checked, laundered and packed discreetly to ensure privacy. Orders will be available for collection from your child’s school. Where needed, we can also arrange delivery or community collection points.
We’re currently developing an online order form to make this process even easier in the future.
Please note: while we always aim to fulfil requests as fully as possible, we cannot guarantee the availability of all items due to stock levels.
Get Involved
We are also looking for volunteers to support the running of the Uniform & Clothing Bank. Whether it’s helping with sorting donations, preparing items, or supporting distribution, any time you can offer would make a real difference. If you’re interested in getting involved, please get in touch.
Our Long-Term Vision
We are committed to the continued growth of the Uniform & Clothing Bank, with plans to expand the initiative over time to support even more families across our wider community. Our vision is to develop this into a long-term, sustainable resource that not only provides school uniform support, but also extends to a broader range of essential clothing needs.
This includes future provision for items such as prom wear, non-uniform everyday clothing for children, and adult clothing where needed.
