SEND

Wickersley Partnership Trust believes that every teacher is a teacher of every student, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, students are supported both inside and outside the classroom to ensure they reach their potential and are fully included in all activities.

SEND provision across the Trust ensures that students:

  • raise the aspirations of and expectations for all students with SEND
  • eliminate discrimination
  • promote equal opportunities
  • foster good relationships between students with SEND and students without SEND

Our approach to working with students with SEND is to support the quality first teaching provided in the classroom with focused intervention for young people with SEND to ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes throughout their time at our school.

SEND identification places students who have needs in the following broad areas identified by the statutory Code of Practice. This allows us schools to plan what action we need to take to support their achievement:

ONE

Communication and Interaction

TWO

Cognition and Learning

THREE

Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties

FOUR

Sensory and/or Physical needs
