About the role

We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants to join our team at The Gainsborough Academy.

Your role will focus on supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning through mentoring, support and bespoke interventions to foster growth, build self-esteem and independence. You should have experience of and an interest in working with or caring for children with ideally an understanding of learning strategies, such as literacy and numeracy.

You should have good communication skills, both written and oral, be able to work as part of a team and independently within a classroom setting. You must have good organisational skills and be able to prioritise whilst maintaining a flexible approach to change.

Motivation and an enthusiasm to make a positive difference to our students, the Academy and the wider community are important personal qualities that we are looking for in potential candidates.

A minimum of Mathematics and English GCSE grade 4/C is required and a teaching assistant qualification would be an advantage.
