About the role
For over a decade Learners First has taken an active and leading role in facilitating the professional development, both nationally accredited and locally endorsed, of school teachers and leaders across the region. As a partnership, we value authentic and high quality professional development and fully recognise the role it simultaneously plays in enhancing the personal and professional development of individuals as well as supporting improved outcomes for children and young people. Our aim is to add real value to the individual endeavours of schools and Trusts by providing opportunities through which high quality collaboration, improvement and excellence can prosper whilst offering a vehicle to connect local and national priorities. The suite of Early Career opportunities within the Learners First portfolio is pivotal to this and encompasses DfE accredited Teaching Internships, Initial Teacher Training programmes, and Early Career programmes across all phases and a range of contexts and geographical areas. As this key area of our work continue to grow (both in terms of scale and significance) and in preparation of the forthcoming national revisions Learners First is seeking an enthusiastic, talented and committed strategic leader with the relevant expertise to join the team and provide high quality strategic leadership to oversee and continue to drive forward this important area of our work. This is an exciting senior leadership role which will offer both challenge and reward. The post requires a motivated, committed, self starter able to undertake high level duties in an innovative and effective way both autonomously and as part of a broader team.
The Early Career Strategic Lead is a fantastic role for a forward thinking individual with a passion and proven track record for supporting initial and early career development within the school sector. The successful applicant will have a secure understanding of the statutory and delivery requirements of programmes associated with the Learners First Early Career portfolio and an appreciation of the current associated challenges. The successful applicant will be required to carefully navigate this landscape so will need excellent interpersonal skills and have the vision, enthusiasm, determination and ability to explore, develop and implement new opportunities.
It is an exciting time to join the Learners First team and applications are welcomed from individuals with relevant experience who have a keen interest in supporting new entrants to the profession, who are able to support senior school leaders to develop their own new entrants and, ultimately, contribute to improving the outcomes and wider life chances of children and young people. If this sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you!
