Joining the Trust - Schools

School to school support is at the heart of Wickersley Partnership Trust and we see a synergy in working in partnership with other schools and other school leaders.

The Trust believes that the best results will be achieved when each individual school’s Local Governing Body receives the level of responsibility and autonomy that is appropriate to their specific circumstances.

Where a school is not yet Good or Outstanding, there will be closer supervision of the school by the Trust through its NLE, LLE and SLE. Those that are Good or Outstanding will receive light touch supervision and support so that the LGB will operate with maximum autonomy

Our schools follow a 10 step School Improvement Model:

Within the Trust, we have a number of NLEs, LLEs, SLEs and NLGs with primary and secondary expertise.

This dedicated team of staff are available to provide bespoke support packages to individuals, schools or departments based on the school’s priorities. They work closely with the school to identify appropriate strategies or interventions to meet the needs of the school, or they can share their expertise of having dealt with a similar situation in a different context – system leadership at its best.

Typically, NLEs will work with the Headteacher and SLT. SLEs will work with middle and/or senior leaders to undertake the following:

  1. Carry out monitoring and evaluation visits.

  2. Develop action plans, identifying key priorities and SMART targets.

  3. Provide one-to-one or group support.

  4. Offer coaching and mentoring support.

  5. Provide access to resources and training.

  6. Policies and procedures.

Lead professionals work with teachers and support staff to improve pedagogy and practice at a classroom level. We believe that there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ and always seek to fully understand and evaluate different school dynamics ahead of helping to bring about change.
