On Wednesday 4th October, some very exciting guests visited TGA! 

Grace (Journalist), Luke (Producer) and Ebony (Production Manager) from the BBC delivered some fantastic BBC Bitesize workshops to the students. 

The workshop was called ‘The Other Side of the Story’ and had a strong focus on how media can often be one-sided, and how to spot biased and balanced news – even on platforms such as TikTok.

A great day was had by all students – we can’t wait to welcome the BBC back to TGA for the next leg of workshops!

Luke Beddows, BBC Producer, said: “We had an amazing time at The Gainsborough Academy educating students on all things fake news, bias and misinformation. The students were engaged, opinionated and extremely polite and respectful to us and our ambassador from BBC Radio Lincolnshire. Also big thanks to Anita Gledhill for being so hospitable!”
