Celebrating 30 Years’ Service!

In September, Mrs Dannatt from Monkwood Primary School celebrated 30 years of dedicated service to the school.

Throughout these years, she has been an amazing teacher for hundreds of children and made a lasting impact on the lives of many local families. Mrs Dannatt’s steadfast commitment to improving educational standards and nurturing the future generation serves as an enduring source of inspiration.

Mrs Dannatt said, “It is hard to believe that  30 years at Monkwood have gone by already. I feel privileged to have taught so many children from the community and then to have taught so many of their children. I can honestly say that Monkwood is my second home and I feel like I am part of the community, not just someone who works there. I have built some precious bonds with some Monkwood families over the years that are still strong today and for that I feel humbled. I have watched children through their educational journeys and had the pleasure of seeing them flourish into adulthood and their chosen career paths. What an honour. Monkwood will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.”

Kay Sherburn, Headteacher of Monkwood Primary School, said, “We are truly grateful, as are our families, that Mrs Dannatt is still on our team. She continues to evoke happiness which filters right the way through our school and her equal abundance of hard work and deep care impacts us all. Everyone who has been taught by, or has taught alongside her, knows the difference that she makes, which lasts long after Primary. Here’s to the next 30 Mrs D!”
