On Friday 2nd December, we held a Careers Fair at our Cranworth Road site for students across the Trust to gain valuable insight into the Post-16 and career opportunities that are available.
Students from Wickersley School & Sports College, Thrybergh Academy, Clifton Community School and Rawmarsh Community School came along to talk to a wide range of providers including local colleges, universities, the armed forces, public sector organisations and private sector companies.
There was a wide selection of providers available such as:
- Wickersley Sixth Form
- Sheffield Hallam University
- RNN Group
- Armed Forces
- TRC
- AMRC Training Centre
And many more!
Shaun Donnelly, Careers Advisor at the Royal Navy, said: “It was a really productive day – students seemed really engaged and interested in their future careers.
“The conversations we’ve had were really positive and we’ve been able to talk to to the students about the different opportunities available to them within the Royal Navy and how, although it might not be for them now, it could be an option in the future.”
Rosie Cooper, Graphic Designer at RNN Group, said: “It was really interesting to talk to the students and find out what they’re into. They all seemed really positive and interested in their futures, and weren’t afraid to ask us plenty of questions about the opportunities we have.”
A big thank you to all of the students, staff and providers that attended the event. It was a fantastic and insightful day for all involved, and students now have incredibly valuable information about possible next steps to help them steer their own career path.
