WPT Partners With New Catering Provider, Taylor Shaw

WPT Partners With New Catering Provider, Taylor Shaw

We’re excited to announce that from September we will be partnering with a new school catering company, Taylor Shaw

Taylor Shaw will be providing ‘delicious, nutritious and varied’ food to students in all eight of our primary schools, Rawmarsh Community School and The Gainsborough Academy.

This comes after a successful catering tender event, which was held at WPT’s Headquarters back in April. This saw a variety of catering companies presenting their proposals and their food in front of a range of judges, including students from Rawmarsh Community School and The Gainsborough Academy.

Although there was tough competition, it was Taylor Shaw who came out on top and proved very popular amongst our staff and students.

With over 20 years’ experience delivering school meals, Taylor Shaw prides itself on being innovative with a high street twist – providing a wide selection of freshly prepared meals and a range of healthy ‘grab and go’ items, all using the best, locally sourced ingredients.

Matt Sutton, Senior Operations Manager at Wickersley Partnership Trust, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Taylor Shaw and start working together to provide quality meals to our students.”

One of the things that particularly drew us to Taylor Shaw was its commitment to sustainability.

Taylor Shaw: “As a responsible caterer, we believe that we have a key role to play in the development of agricultural methods that are respectful to the environment and animal welfare. We do this in a number of ways:

  • Social value
  • Deforestation
  • Local sourcing
  • Food standards
  • Ethical sourcing
  • Animal welfare

A Level Results Day 2022

A Level Results Day 2022

This morning, we welcomed Wickersley Sixth Form students back through the Wickersley School doors for one last time to collect their much-anticipated A Level results.

Despite this cohort experiencing unprecedented disruption to their studies, today we celebrate their fantastic results.

Almost all students who applied to university secured their first choice place, including some of the most competitive universities. Many students have also fought off fierce competition to secure apprenticeships and employment at very prestigious providers.

Mr Hardcastle, Headteacher at Wickersley School & Sports College, said: “We’re incredibly proud of all of our Y13 students. Despite the challenges of the past couple of years, they have achieved amazing results and have secured strong onward destinations.

“We wish them all the best in whatever they go on to do next.”

The Wickersley Sixth Form team have been in school today to celebrate with, and congratulate, our students. We encourage any student who needs further advice or support to get in touch via sixthform@wickersley.net.

Congratulations, Y13! We wish you the best of luck with your next steps.
