Construction Works Start On New Block at Rawmarsh Community School

Just before the May half term, Hawker Construction Ltd started construction works on a brand new block at Rawmarsh Community School.

The decision for the new block comes after an increase in student numbers over the past four years. Rawmarsh Community School is close to reaching its student admission limit and has increased Published Admission Numbers (PAN) this year to accommodate more Year 6s, which has led the school to needing more space.

The building will house up to 10 new classrooms for the students when they return or start in September 2021.

Mr Turton, Headteacher at Rawmarsh Community School said: “The popularity of the school continues to rise and as such we have been asked by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to take additional students from September 2021. This speaks volumes about the school’s improvement since becoming a part of Wickersley Partnership Trust and is a direct result of the hard work, commitment and dedication of all the staff at Rawmarsh Community School. It is a truly exciting time for our community.”
