Kellogg’s awards Monkwood Primary School £1000 to help fund its breakfast club

This week, Kellogg’s has awarded Monkwood Primary School a £1000 grant to boost its breakfast club. The school intends to use the money to promote a healthier lifestyle, and support more children by providing a nutritious meal at the start of the school day.

Kellogg’s ‘Support for Breakfast Clubs’ started back in 1998 as a way of tackling the current stats that one in nine children go without breakfast. It also champions the correlation between breakfast and enhanced academic performance as studies suggest that breakfast increases attention span, concentration and memory.

Kay Sherburn, Headteacher at Monkwood Primary School said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the school. It will allow us to support more children with a happy and healthy start to the day. A big thank you to Kellogg’s!”

Matt Sutton, Operations Manager at Wickersley Partnership Trust added: “We are delighted to work with Kellogg’s and receive the funding. The application process was very easy and the funding is immediately available for the school to invest in its breakfast club.”
